ERV Boxscore for April 19 at Philadelphia

A frustrating loss, probably of the kind we can't afford to lose many of this year. The bullpen seriously let's us down -- good teams simply don't blow three run leads in the 8th.

ERV Win: Howard
ERV Loss: Stanton

Three most valuable plays:
(1) Howard's GW single in the 10th (3.44)
(2) Abreu's HR in the 8th (2.39)
(3) Howard's HR in the 2nd (1.76)

I know Stanton walked people and gave up the winning single, but Eischen's walks felt like a bigger blow.

However, I guess it's obvious - a winning run in the 10th is worth more than a tying run in the 8th, right?

Yep. Remember it is "Win" Value, not "Avoiding a Loss" Value. Eischen's failure, annoying as it was, still left us with the chance to win the game. Stanton's did not.
