ERV Boxscore for June 2, vs. Atlanta

Game of the year, in many ways. If we are lucky enough to make the playoffs, we will look back on this game as sign. 5 runs. 5 runs scored in the 8th inning, when I had almost given up hope of seeing a 5-run inning again. 5 runs knocked in by Gary Bennett ... Gary Bennett!, of all players. Unbelievable.

Notes:

-- Bennett's game is the best of the year, 8.79 WV. His double is the third most valuable play of the year, at 6.92 WV.

-- We could have just as easily been talking about Estrada the hero and Majewski the goat.

-- I loved the shot of Jose Guillen rubbing Frank's arm during Bennett's double, in large part because Frank looked a little annoyed by it.
